About Us

The Taupo School of Music is a charitable organisation which exists to promote the teaching of music to everyone within the Taupo community. Founded in 1989 by a group of like-minded people including Ingulf Revfiem and Elizabeth Marshall.

We teach instrumental music to children (and adults) in small groups. The groups depend on the number of children who are wanting to learn the instrument. Each group has 1 - 6 children in it and typically groups have 4 children in them. Classes will run even if there is only 1 child in it up until the child starts attending college (where it is understood that the child will continue instrumental tuition there). College aged children and adults are welcome to the TSOM providing we have a class of at least 2 children suitable for them.
